We are still two days away from the release date set for the Virtual League Baseball 2 ROM we have aquired. However, the team thought it would be a cool surprise to release a bit early to give everybody the chance to try out the game over the weekend. So here we go!

Up to this point, through donations, we have made back about 16% of the money we spent on aquiring the ROM – thank you so much for everybody’s support! In addition to the ROM itself, with the help of thunderstruck, we prepared both save files and patches to change the game’s “custom” team into a maxed-out unbeatable All-Star ensemble, featuring the names of our little team as well as other Virtual Boy scene legends. The Virtual League Baseball 2 game page will shortly be updated with download links for those.

Test Chamber is a new (2025) puzzle homebrew for VB. It’s a first-person puzzler similar to games like Portal or The Talos Principle.

V.O.R.T.E.C.H.S. Games prepared a little surprise for the Virtual Boy’s Japanese release date, and it is… a parody of Dragon Hopper!
In Dragon Chopper, you are Sven, a cool nordic Viking ship builder, who one day finds himself in a world that has been fully transformed from his cozy Nordic homeland into ancient Greece! It is now your task, your quest, to restore the country back to normal. But first, you really need to go to the bathroom…
This demo is a sneak peek of the first area, up until you obtain one of the first major power-ups. The full game will feature maps that you will jump up or down to, with a zoom effect as you land onto the next elevation level (much like what was planned for the original Dragon Hopper).
This demo has been made by Morintari (game concept & artwork), Simon Gellis (programming) and DaVince (ideas & maps).
Floogle has just dropped v1.0.0 of Red Viper, the amazing Virtual Boy emulator for Nintendo 3DS. With this release, all officially released games run at playable speeds, with no major glitches or slowdow. But wait, there’s even more!
- New “Multicolor” mode, allowing for more versatile color remapping
- Circle Pad Pro support
- Software renderer to reduce visual glitches, enabled in Golf
- Double buffering to hide garbage frames and improve frametime accuracy, enabled in Red Alarm and Bound High
- Numerous performance improvements
- In particular, interrupt checking was moved from a polling-based system to predicting exactly when the next interrupt will trigger, improving performance particularly in the Space Invaders intro
- A ROM can be bundled with a Red Viper CIA, to create what is commonly called a “forwarder”
- An error code is now shown when loading a ROM fails
- Fix “Discard” not correctly restoring settings for New 3DS Speedup
- Fix occasional graphical glitches on touch screen when toggling Home Menu
